"Growing up in North Dakota, and the time spent at my Grandparents farm north of Golden Valley, ND, gave me a unique appreciation for rural life, wildlife and the beauty of the mid-west landscape. I fell in love with art and drawing at an early age, and after picking up a paint brush, new instantly oil painting would become a life long ambition. I am a self taught artist. I drew a lot of inspiration from the artists who's artwork I loved and aspired to achieve in my artwork as well. I fell in love with paintings of artists like Jim Hansel, Terry Redlin, and fellow North Dakota artist Gary Miller." - Jim Olheiser
" As a symbol of our immigrants, two Hungarian partridges ( who's species was also brought to America and has thrived while here) look reflectively upon an abandoned farm and a vintage thrashing machine. This was the lifestyle of generations past, where the challenge of the American spirit and hard work overcame hardship and heartbreak. A tribute to our courageous PIONEERS! "
