“Growing up in North Dakota, and the time spent at my Grandparents farm north of Golden Valley, ND,  gave me a unique appreciation for rural life, wildlife and the beauty of the mid-west landscape. I fell in love with art and drawing at an early age, and after picking up a paint brush, new instantly oil painting would become a life long ambition. I am a self taught artist. I drew a lot of inspiration from the artists who’s artwork I loved and aspired to achieve in my artwork as well. I wanted to do paintings like Terry Redlin, Jim Hansel, and fellow North Dakota artist Gary Miller.” – Jim Olheiser
